1. Institutional Overview
The Institute for Safety Education & Training PNG (ISETPNG) is a specialised national
training institution dedicated to developing Work Health & Safety (WHS) capability across Papua New Guinea.
Established in 2011, ISETPNG delivers competency-based WHS qualifications, short courses and workforce
development programs for companies, government agencies and individual professionals.
ISETPNG operates in formal partnership with the
Papua New Guinea University of Technology (PNGUoT) through the
Department of Open & Distance Learning (DODL). Under this partnership, DODL provides
academic oversight, moderation and certification for WHS programs delivered by ISETPNG.
Over the past decade, ISETPNG has trained more than
500 WHS practitioners and Safety Professionals across key industries including mining,
aviation, construction, power, logistics, manufacturing and public sector organisations.
