This advanced qualification is designed to equip experienced WHS practitioners with the skills and knowledge to coordinate and maintain safety systems at a strategic and operational level. It is ideal for Safety Advisors, WHS Managers, or those involved in complex risk and compliance environments.


Program Structure & Core Units

The course includes five core units and five elective units, aligned with industry standards in PNG.

Core Units

  • BSBWHS513: Lead WHS risk management
  • BSBWHS515: Lead initial response to and investigate WHS incidents
  • BSBWHS516: Contribute to developing, implementing and maintaining a WHS management system
  • BSBWHS517: Contribute to managing a WHS information system
  • BSBWHS519: Lead the development and use of WHS risk management tools

Elective Units (as typically delivered by ISET)

  • BSBSTR502: Facilitate continuous improvement
  • BSBAUD513: Report on quality audits
  • BSBPEF502: Develop and use emotional intelligence
  • BSBLDR523: Lead and manage effective workplace relationships
  • BSBOPS504: Manage business risk

  • Design and implement a full WHS Management System (WHSMS)
  • Lead and manage complex WHS incident investigations

Delivery Format

  • Mode: Blended (Face-to-Face + Online via Google Classroom)
  • Location: Port Moresby (Regional centres may be considered upon request; not Lae)
  • Duration: Intensive 2–3-week block course and set on Assessment with Projects for 12 Months
